Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel said that the situation in Lebanon is delicate and challenging. “Officials and journalists must cooperate closely”, he said.
When questioned on the TIME Magazine interview with one of the individuals accused in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) indictment, Charbel said that the relationship between the STL and the Lebanese authorities is mediated by the Public Prosecution Department. “I kindly asked State Prosecutor, Said Mirza, to look into the TIME interview because there may be dangerous repercussions in targeting Hezbollah directly.
