Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said Monday that the U.S. is ready to help settle the crisis that recently erupted between Egypt and Israel. Relations became tense after the Thursday killing of five Egyptian policemen by Israeli forces in Sinai.
“The U.S. partnership with both Israel and Egypt is strong given that both countries are important U.S. allies and friends”, Feltman told journalists following his meeting with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Amro.
