2 killed in Syria and National Dialogue kicks off in Rif Dimashq

Official Syrian news agency SANA reported that National Dialogue sessions kicked off in Rif Dimashq, in Damascus University and in Lattakia in the presence of syndicates, parties and academic and social figures.

Syria's ruling party opened a "national dialogue" last month to discuss possible political reforms, but many opposition figures vowed to stay away.

Meanwhile, violence continued in Eastern Syria where 2 women were killed by security forces who opened fire Saturday on mourners participating in a funeral in Rif Dimashq.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Human Rights activist Najati Tayyara is in a very bad health condition after being severely beaten by the committee that was interrogating him inside a prison in Homs, according to AFP.
