Dissident Syrian officer kidnapped

Syrian opposition figure Salah El Din Bilal said Friday that the Syrian army officer Hussein Harmoush who fled to Turkey in June and was seen Thursday in Syria, was kidnapped after falling into a trap.

Bilal lives in Germany and came to Paris to participate in the Syrian opposition’s conference that will be held at the end of this week. He said that he had an appointment outside the camp with a Turkish man who suggested providing the Syrian opposition with weapons.

The Syrian TV broadcasted Thursday evening the “confessions” of Hussein Harmoush who said that he escaped from the army due to the bloody incidents that swept through the Syrian streets and killed thousands of civilians.
