2 intelligence officers assassinated in Baghdad

Iraqi security sources announced Saturday the assassination of two major officers using silenced weapons in two separate attacks in Baghdad.

A source in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that unidentified gunmen used silenced weapons to assassinate Abdul Razzaq Khalaf, a brigadier general in the intelligence service, in the Jamiyah area of west Baghdad.

In a separate attack, gunmen with silenced weapons killed interior ministry Lieutenant Colonel Saad Mohsen Alwan in Shuala in north Baghdad.
