Hezbollah SG Nasrallah says Saudi Arabia suffered failure, defeat in Yemen

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said “the main goal of the U.S.-Saudi aggression is ultimately to take control over Yemen”.

“We've witnessed Saudi Arabia’s failure and Yemen’s victory due to the cohesion among the Yemeni people and their support to the army,” Hezbollah SG said in a televised speech on Tuesday (May 05).

“Claiming that Operation Decisive Storm has achieved its goals is untrue. Saudi Arabia has obviously suffered failure and defeat,” Nasrallah said as he addressed the latest developments on the regional front.

“A call to hold dialogue in Riyadh will complicate the political process in Yemen,” he noted, saying “Washington is not serious in the fight against the Islamic State but instead will make use of the group’s threat to accomplish its [own] project in the region”.

Turning to the local scene, Nasrallah said the Lebanese state is incapable of addressing “aggression” in the eastern mountain range, adding “there’s a real offensive being lead by gunmen who are attacking and occupying Lebanese territories”.

He also pointed out that Hezbollah did not, and will not, issue a statement about the Qalamoun operation, saying “the mission will speak for itself as soon as it begins”.

“Addressing the situation in [Syria’s] Qalamoun is inevitable but the [operation’s] timing, the whereabouts and the goals have yet to be officially declared,” he concluded.
