Hezbollah dismantles car bomb in Syria’s Qalamoun - Manar TV

Al-Manar TV station reported on Saturday that Hezbollah dismantled by detonation a car bomb loaded with more than 500 kg of explosive material in al-Fatleh border crossing in Qalamoun.

The car bomb was left by armed groups that have been clashing with Hezbollah and Syrian troops in recent battles.

The channel said yesterday that the Syrian regime and Hezbollah fighters took control over al-Barouh mountain range in al-Qalamoun and al-Fatleh border crossing, which links Raas alo-Maarra to the Lebanese town of Nahleh.

Qalamoun region is important for the Syrian army because of its strategic location as the main conduit the rebels use to smuggle arms and fighters from Lebanon into Syria.

Syrian government troops, with the help of the Lebanese Hezbollah group, started offensives against Nusra Front and Islamic State militants in Qalamoun at the beginning of this month, aiming to control most of the borderline with Lebanon to cut off the rebels' weapon supply and destroy their training camps and ammunition depots in the area.
