REPORT: What is the Islamic State's destination after Tadmur?
Those who seek to alleviate the impact of Islamic State’s gains after the group controlled half of Syria's territory say that this captured territory is nothing but desert.     
 
They also say that Syria’s important parts, i.e. residential areas of a strategic value, are on the other side.      
 
Nonetheless, those who look into the country’s geography will realize that this desert would be a gateway for the militant group to Syria’s vital parts.           
 
The Islamic State’s capture of Tamdur has opened to the group doors leading to most of the Syrian provinces and critical areas, like As-Suwayda, Damascus, Qalamoun, Homs, Hama, Idlib and Aleppo.
