Turkish army says Islamic State militant killed in firefight across Syrian border

An Islamic State militant was killed and three of the group's vehicles were hit on Thursday after the Turkish military returned fire across the Syrian border, the General Staff said on its website.

The military also confirmed earlier statements from a government official that one Turkish soldier had been killed and two wounded in the firefight, which occurred at the border in the Turkish province of Kilis.
