IMF forecasts severe economic setback in response to Russia-Ukraine war

The International Monetary Fund recently provided sharply low estimation of global economic growth in 2022 due to shock waves caused by the war in Ukraine, and warned that inflation will persist, especially in emerging countries.

The International Finance Corporation said the growth rate will be 3.6 percent this year, 0.8 percentage point lower than its January forecast. As for inflation, the Fund expects it to reach 5.7 percent for developed countries (+1.8 percent) and 8.7 percent (+2.8 points) for emerging and developing economies.
