Iran implements first death sentence in connection with protests
In the first execution connected to the protests that have been taking place in the Islamic Republic for almost three months, Iran executed a man on Thursday who had been found guilty of injuring a member of the Basij forces, according to official media.

Mohsen Shakari, a rioter who stabbed a Basij member in the left shoulder while crossing the Sattar Khan Street in Tehran on September 25, was put to death on Thursday morning, according to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA."
