Guterres calls for immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Tuesday for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, citing clear violations of international humanitarian law during a session of the United Nations Security Council to address the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

He also stated, “In order to alleviate this immense suffering, ensure the guaranteed distribution of aid, facilitate the release of hostages, I reiterate my call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.”
