Iranian official says Tehran will not give up its right to enrich uranium

A senior Iranian official told Reuters on Thursday that the country will not give up its right to enrich uranium despite rising tensions in the region.

He added that a “friendly” country in the region had warned Tehran of a potential military strike.

The official said the growing tensions are aimed at “pressuring Tehran to alter its position on its nuclear rights” ahead of scheduled talks with the United States on Sunday in Oman.
