[VIDEO] Do Animals Commit Suicide? Here Are Some Cases

Many animal rights activists claim that stressed or depressed animals may commit suicide.

Some cases have proven that theory to be accurate but were these animals consciously trying to end their lives?

Here are a few cases of animal suicide we stumbled upon.

1- The bears that starved themselves to death after being captured:

In 2012, a bear starved herself to death, according to reports. Animal rights activist claim that they have witnessed many other bears doing the same thing in China as they are kept in small cages and subjected to painful procedures in order to extract their bile.

2- The sheep that committed mass suicide:

1,500 sheep jumped off a cliff in Turkey. 450 died and the rest were saved as they landed on their dead friends.

3- Kathy, the dolphin who refused to breathe:

Dolphin trainer and animal rights activist Richard O'barry tells the story of Kathy, a dolphin featured in the movie flipper.

According to O'barry, the dolphin was depressed and voluntarily stopped herself from breathing, sinking to the bottom of the tank where she was kept.
