[VIDEO] Heartbreaking Video Shows Hippo Crying After Falling From Moving Truck


A hippopotamus who frantically attempted to escape from a moving truck in Taiwan was filmed crying on the side of the road after the fall rendered him incapable of moving.

The 32-year-old male hippo, known as Ahe was hurt with a damaged leg and teeth.

Zoo staff attempted to aid, but the botched rescue attempt left the 1.8 ton animal for dead after the harness used to carry him broke, dropping him for a second time.


Medics said that the hippo died from injuries sustained as a result of being dropped the second time while being moved to a temporary shelter in the failed rescue attempt in Taichung city, a special municipality located in western Taiwan.

This goes to show that wild animals should never be caged, transferred or manhandled. A sad story and an example of how animals feel the same way humans do.
