REPORT: Details of Ahmad Merhi’s escape revealed

Citizen Ahmad al-Ali reiterated his confessions before the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence Bureau and the Internal Security Forces Information Bureau, concerning the escape of Ahmad Merhi who detonated the booby-trapped car near al-Taqwa Mosque in Tripoli back in August.

According to his confessions, former MP Ali Eid asked his driver Ahmad al-Ali, three days after Ali Youssef Diab who detonated the bomb near al-Salam Mosque was arrested, to head to Jabal Mohsen and bring Ahmad Merhi to Eid’s residence in the border town of Hekr al-Daher in Akkar in order to facilitate his escape toward the Syrian territories.
