REPORT: Jean Assi sentenced to two months in jail for defaming the president

Beirut's Publications Court headed by Judge Roukoz Rizk sentenced citizen Jean Elias Assi to two months in jail and ordered him to pay all fees and expenses of the trial.

Jean Assi was arrested in June 2013 on libel and slander charges, after having published tweets reportedly attacking President Michel Sleiman.
