Syrian nationals began voting on Thursday at the Damascus embassy in the region of Yarzeh for the second consecutive day to elect a new president.
In this regard, Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdel Karim Ali told LBCI that the voting will be extended until midnight, stressing that the huge turnout is proof of a political electoral process.
He also noted that Syrian nationals who are not able to reach the embassy in Yarzeh will get the chance to vote on the 3rd of June on the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Ambassador Ali also mentioned that calls for deporting Syrian nationals back to their country contradict with appeals to save the Syrian people.
