REPORT: Karami says Geagea's candidacy is an "offense for the Sunnite sect"
Former Minister Faysal Karami said on Sunday that the candidacy of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea for the presidency is an "offense for the Sunnite sect in Lebanon."

Karami's comments were made during a rally marking the 27th anniversary of the assassination of former premier Rashid Karami in the northern city of Tripoli.

He also noted that Rashid Karami was killed because "he stood firm in the face of attempts to partition Lebanon and was an obstacle in the face of federalism calls", accusing Israel's agents of killing him at its instructions.
