REPORT: Finance Minister says will do his utmost to pay the salaries of public sector employees

Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said on Monday that Lebanon's treasury and the financial situation are in a stable condition, stressing that "there is no problem in paying the salaries of civil servants".

"There are attempts to convince the public opinion that the Finance Minister refuses to pay the salaries of public sector employees," Khalil said, stressing that tireless efforts will be exerted to ensure full payment.

"We should grant the people their rights and stay within legal boundaries," he said during a press conference.

On another note, minister Khalil urged the Lebanese lawmakers to steer clear of disputes and head to Parliament in a bid to approve financial draft-laws.
