REPORT: Lebanon bids farewell to veteran poet Said Akl
Hundreds gathered on Monday in Notre Dame University (NDU), Zouk Mousbeh to bid farewell to veteran Lebanese poet Said Akl.

Akl's casket arrived on Monday morning to NDU and will be transported Tuesday to the Saint George Maronite Cathedral in Beirut where a funeral procession is set to be held.

Said Akl passed away at the age of 102 on Friday, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Akl, a poet, writer, playwright and language reformer from the Bekaa town of Zahle, is considered one of the most important modern Lebanese poets.
