Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour held on Wednesday a press conference to announce a new list of violating restaurants and supermarkets. Abou Faour noted that the percentage of samples that do not meet the health requirements is starting to decrease, adding that his food safety campaign is finally paying off.
He also revealed that 18 workers from Beirut’s slaughterhouse died of cancer, urging the concerned authorities to open an investigation into the case.
Following the food scandal, the Health Ministry has touched on a new file, ordering the closure of many beauty centers that operate without official supervision.
Abou Faour’s campaign has also tackled the file related to water quality.
The minister, who has received the support of many political forces, vowed to push ahead with his campaign, and stressed the need to protect the Lebanese citizens against any type of contamination. Scroll down for the list
