The Mufti of Tripoli and the North Malek al-Chaar said that the campaign aimed at removing the political and partisan signs and the black flags has been discussed with Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq.
“The black flags represent a certain political party known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria,” he said adding that all the citizens of Tripoli agree with him on the need to remove all political signs, especially the Islamic State’s black flags, which are rejected by all the Lebanese people.
“In Islam, we do not have black flags, unless in a state of war,” he stated, noting that Lebanon is not in war.
