REPORT: Families of LAF martyrs call for reinstating Martyrs’ Day as official holiday

The families of the Lebanese Armed Forces martyrs staged on Sunday a sit-in at Martyrs’ Square in Central Beirut, to call for reinstating Martyrs’ Day as an official holiday.

In this regard, Mrs. Georgette Semaan, the mother of LAF martyr Nadim George Semaan, said that the Martyrs’ Day must be reinstated as a public holiday, “because the soldiers’ martyrdom is a symbol of national honor, sacrifice and loyalty.”
