REPORT: Ahmad Assir’s spouse speaks to LBCI in wake of his arrest

The case of fugitive hardline cleric Ahmad Assir has come to an end with calm restored to the area where he once resided.

Assir’s second wife spoke to LBCI and said the detainee’s family, namely his parents were contacted for DNA testing in a bid to verify Assir's identity after he had reportedly resorted to several plastic surgeries to alter his looks. The DNA test is being carried out upon the orders of the Lebanese General Security.
