Drug use widespread in Lebanese schools
Serious steps finally were taken after the abuse and trafficking of drugs spread in schools at the start of the school year.
 
On June 17, the Lebanese Army checkpoint in the al-Madfoun region stopped a car carrying four young men with hashish in their possession.
 
During interrogations, the four arrested students, aged 16 to 18, admitted that they had obtained cannabis from one of their schoolmates, a non-Lebanese Arab.
