Introduction to the evening news 30-09-2012

As Rina Chibany was elected Miss Lebann 2012 on Saturday evening, the good old days came back.

They are days that we’ve been waiting for since 1971when Georgina Rizk was crowned Miss Universe 1971 to make Lebanon part of the world beauty map; 4 years before the Lebanese civil war.

Since then, Lebanon is only mentioned on the maps of war, kidnapping, and destruction.

Those who watched the crowning ceremony on Saturday night went back in time to the days of the 70s. They put hope that the newly elected Miss Lebanon Rina Chibany can manage to reach the ranks of Former Miss Universe, Georgina Rizk.

The Miss Lebanon 2012 beauty contest didn’t only crown Rina, but also elected her twin sister Romy Chibany as the first runner-up.

Perhaps this coincidence is the first in Lebanon, and in the whole world.
