REPORT: Will Saudi huntsmen commit to bird hunting ban?

Despite the ban on the hunting of migratory birds imposed by the Saudi government, Saudi citizens with an affinity for this tradition seems to push beyond the restrictions of this law.

Enthusiasts set out to hunt early in the day, targeting migratory birds flying through the Kingdom. To conclude their trips, they usually ignite a fire and cook a meal called “Kabbseh” using the bounty.

The National Authority for the Protection of Wildlife had banned hunting of birds of all kinds, for fear of the spread of bird flu and to ensure the health and safety of citizens.
