Qatari Foreign Affairs Minister tours Lebanese officials

Qatar Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met on Tuesday with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

The Qatari envoy asserted on the solidarity of the government and people of Qatar with Lebanon, and Qatar’s firm stance towards the Lebanese people.

"We have a vision for an economic rescue of Lebanon, but there is need for stability, and we call on the political parties to place the interest of the Lebanese people above all considerations," he added.

He then headed to Ain el-Tineh where he met with Speaker Nabih Berri.

The Qatari minister then left Ain el-Tineh heading to the Grand Serail without giving any statement.

At the Grand Serail, he met with Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab whereby they discussed Lebanon’s needs to deal with the repercussions of the Beirut port explosion, and the support that Qatar could provide.
