Hariri from Baabda: President Aoun sent me a list with a blocking majority
Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri said on Monday that President Michel Aoun sent him yesterday a list with a Cabinet lineup that includes a blocking majority.

Hariri’s comments were made after meeting with President Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace whereby he noted that the list suggests different scenarios for a cabinet of either 18,20 or 22 ministers, with names to be filled in.

“This is unacceptable because it is not the job of the prime minister-designate to fill forms from someone else or of the president to form a government," he noted.

“Our constitution clearly states that the prime minister-designate is the one who places the names and discusses his Cabinet lineup the President,” Hariri added.

He also noted that he has a sole goal, which is putting an end for the collapse and the suffering of the Lebanese people, pointing out that he asked President Aoun “to listen to the pain of the Lebanese, and to give the country its only and last chance” with the formation of a government of specialists that would undertake reforms and stop the collapse, without “any narrow partisan considerations.”
