REPORT: The Beatles: Back to the spotlight

English rock band the Beatles reclaim the spotlight, this time by showcasing the first tape they recorded in 1962 at an auction in London for over 47,000 dollars, according to the British Daily ‘The Sun.’

Prior to being signed to a record label, they recorded a demo tape including 10 songs and presented it to the British record label ‘Decca’ which rejected the album and told the band they had no future in the music industry. This decision was later branded the biggest mistake in music history.

After this rejection, the band contracted with another company and released the 10 songs that turned the Beatles into the most famous band in history.

The demo tape is marked as the "Silver Beatles" - the group's former name - and comes with a hand-written track list and a black-and-white image of the band.
