First case of monkeypox registered in Lebanon-[REPORT]
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday that the first case of monkeypox was registered in the country.

The Ministry said that the case is a foreigner, and is currently quarantining at home, adding that her condition is stable.

The Health Ministry also explained that monkeypox is a viral disease that is transmitted through direct contact with infected animals, direct contact with an infected person through respiratory particles, or through the respiratory secretions of a person infected with the disease or its skin lesions, or by contacting things that have been contaminated with its fluids and secretions.

It then called upon everybody to take the following preventive measures:

- Keep a safe distance from infected people
- Avoid sharing your personal items
- Avoid contact with animals in countries where the disease is endemic
