REPORT: Residents of border towns accuse Syria of Al-Kabir River's flood

Lebanese citizens who live near to the Al-Kabir River are accusing the Syrian authorities of causing the flood of the river after setting sand barricades on the Syrian side.

The heavy rains that fell during the past few days increased the water level. Consequently, the river flooded and caused massive damage to several agricultural lands in the towns of Heker al-Dahiri, Samikiya and Arida.

In this context, the residents urged the Agriculture Minister to take the necessary measures to prevent this tragedy that occurs every year, stressing that they are expecting to be compensated.
