REPORT: the 2013 elections, between electoral bodies and cabinet

Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel said to LBCI that the draft decree which invites electoral bodies to the coming parliamentary elections has been referred to the cabinet and pointed out that he is preparing to hold the parliamentary elections on due time based on the current law.

For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adnan Mansour said that expatriates are now able to vote and added to LBCI that the only remaining issue is that pertaining to the resignations of employees and heads of municipalities.

It is worth noting that Minister Marwan Charbel referred, 2 weeks ago, the draft decree which stipulates holding the elections in one day which is the 9th of June 2013.

The Premiere Najib Mikati suggested referring this issue to the legislation and consulting body in the Justice Ministry, but it was known that the body hasn’t received anything so far.
