Introduction to the evening news 02-01-2013

A new generation of refugees is born in Lebanon.

According to official figures, 550 Syrian infants were born in the cold refugee tents or shelters. Unfortunately, the real number of the newborn refugees is much higher. They remain unregistered until "Syria is born again."

The file of the Syrian refugees was tackled today during the ministerial meeting that was held at the Grand Serail. It will be discussed in details tomorrow as well during the cabinet session.

This as the ministers remain divided between supporters and opponents to the humanitarian case of the Syrian displaced people who fled to Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay announced that at least 60,000 people have died in Syria since the beginning of the conflict after the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has recently said that the death toll in Syria has reached 44,000 persons.

In Israel, the army is preparing for the largest air drills with participation of foreign forces, in anticipation of potential attacks on chemical sites in Syria.
