REPORT: Pediatrician Jamil Zgheib beats ALS with his eyes

Pediatrician Jamil Zgheib was stricken with ALS five years ago, a disorder which causes muscle weakness and atrophy throughout the body.

Although ALS left him bedridden, it could not keep Zgheib isolated from the world; accordingly, Zgheib created a Facebook consultation page to give medical advice to his patients in Lebanon and abroad. In addition to reading newspapers, Zgheib participates in a number of conferences and writes books, two of which have been published. Despite his condition, Zgheib has greater ambitions.

This report will explore Pediatrician Zgheib's outlook on his disease and his hopes for a better future he is trying to pursue.
