Man Fakes Own Kidnapping To Rip-off Money From Wife!

A husband schemed his own kidnapping on Facebook to rip-off £300 (nearly USD 450) from his wife.

Eliot Garrido Guido, an unemployed builder from Mexico City, started his plan when he could no longer stand the fact that his banker wife Constanza was earning more than him since he lost his job three months earlier.

Guido’s friend Martinez Reyes, 42, tied Garrido up in a ruined house and then took photos of him with a bag over his head.

The pair then uploaded the images to Garrido’s Facebook telling his wife he was being held over 900 miles away in the seaside resort of Playa del Carmen.

Stunned Constanza, 34, said that she was shocked when she saw the message.

“The kidnappers had demanded 7,000 Pesos and said my husband was being tortured, and that they will kill him if she did not pay,” she stated.

“I was seriously worried but when I contacted them they said I should leave the money at an address in Mexico City,” she added, explaining that she realized that the whole thing did not make sense, since the kidnappers were in Playa del Carmen.

The wife added that she contacted the police, who inspected the story and examined the message, to discover that it has been sent from nearby.

“We found them in a house about 300 meters away. They both confessed and were arrested on the spot,” a police spokesman reported. The men now are facing five years in jail.
