[VIDEO] Angry Dad 'Tries To Run Over A Group Of Teens Bullying His Daughter'

A father attempted to run over a group of teenagers outside a school in Illinois - believing they had bullied his daughter, police say.

The video shows a four-wheel drive car, driven by Roy Williams Jnr, mount a grass verge and head towards school children standing outside Nelson Elementary School in Rockford.

Police say the 56-year-old father 'took the matter into his own hands' after his 13-year-old daughter became involved in a fight.

At first, he confronted the teenagers with a cane before jumping into his SUV and mounting the grass, officers say.

Police arrived and arrested Williams, who had stayed at the scene.

No action was taken after police investigated the alleged fight beforehand and nobody was hurt in the alleged quarrel.

Williams faces charges of aggravated assault with a vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon.

He is reported to be in custody with bail set at $200,000.
