Minister Derbas: Entry permits for Syrians entering Lebanon are not visas

Minister of Social Affairs Rachid Derbass told al-Rai on Wednesday that Syrians must now apply for an entry permit to enter Lebanon, adding however that such a permit is a not a visa and thus will not be put on their passports.

Derbas noted that the entry permits will be granted at the crossing borders, stressing that they aim at differentiating between refugees and non-refugees.


Minister Bou Saab: Verbal sparring between Ministers Abou Faour and Alain Hakim has come to an end

Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab told al-Hayat newspaper on Wednesday that the last verbal sparring between Minister of Economy Alain Hakim and Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour over the food safety case has come to an end.

Bou Saab noted that such a verbal sparring between the two ministers will not affect the work of the government.


Hezbollah, Future Movement discuss attacks of Hezbollah-affiliated Resistance Brigades across Lebanon-sources

Sources told al-Hayat newspaper on Wednesday that the Future Movement and Hezbollah stressed during Monday’s dialogue session on the importance of fully implementing the security plan set by the Ministry of Interior in Beirut and Tripoli.

The same sources added that both parties also stressed the need to calm the sectarian tensions in the country, noting that they also discussed the attacks carried out by Hezbollah-affiliated Resistance Brigades (Saraya al-Moqawama) in several Lebanese regions.

According to the daily, the sources also noted that the two parties did not tackle the presidential elections yet.
