An-Nahar newspaper stated on Wednesday that Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt contacted General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim asking him about the latest developments regarding the dossier of abducted soldiers.
In this regard, relatives of the troops reported to the newspaper that Major General Ibrahim did not inform MP Jumblatt about any developments, stating that he is still following up on the matter.
Meanwhile, sources following up on the dossier told An-Nahar newspaper that the kidnappers of the soldiers haven’t presented yet a detailed list of their demands, stressing that this issue is hindering the release of the soldiers.
Sources following up on the dialogue sessions between Hezbollah and the Future Movement stated that the last session held on Tuesday was normal and positive.
Meanwhile, other sources reported to the Al-Akhbar newspaper that the last session was very serious.
In this regard, the newspaper noted that the Future Movement delegation was not very comfortable at the beginning of the session, adding that officials tackled items that were previously discussed during the first meeting.
The newspaper added that both delegations discussed the latest speech delivered by the Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Al-Hayat newspaper stated that Lebanese Armed Forces units deployed at the hills facing the Syrian border were able to intercept the infiltration attempt of armed men into the Lebanese territories.
In this regard, the newspaper noted that LAF units targeted on Tuesday various positions for armed groups in the Arsal regions of Wadi Al-Khayl, Kherbet Dawoud, and Al-Ajram with long-range artillery.
Official sources reported to the Al-Mustaqbal newspaper on Wednesday that the atmosphere overshadowing the dossier of abducted soldiers is still positive, adding that negotiations are still ongoing to secure the release of the soldiers.
In this regard, the newspaper quoted sources as saying that Lebanese authorities are still waiting for answers pertaining to the latest amendments made on the list of demands presented by the kidnappers through mediators who are following up on the issue.
