Sources told al-Akhbar newspaper on Saturday that the meeting held on Friday between Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour and Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun at Rabieh was “positive.”

The same sources added that Abou Faour and Aoun asserted the importance of activating the work of the government.

According to the daily, both officials tackled the file of Lebanon’s port, as well as the medicine issue.

 

Al-Mustaqbal newspaper reported on Saturday that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived on Friday midnight to Beirut International airport coming from the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The same sources added that Hariri will take part in the ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of his father’s assassination set to be held today (Saturday) at Biel in downtown Beirut.


Bishop Mazloum: MP Aoun is Hezbollah’s sole candidate for presidency

Bishop Samir Mazloum told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Saturday that the meeting held beteen Hezbollah delegation and Bkerke comes as part of a periodic dialogue between thr two sides.

Bishop Mazloum noted that Bkerke delegation asked Hezbollah whether the party will be tackling the presidential elections with the Future Movement during their dialogue sessions.

He added that Hezbollah delegation said that the elections were not tackled yet, noting however that nothing prevents the discussion of the presidential elections in the near future.

Bishop Mazloum concluded by saying that Hezbollah is still adamant on supporting MP Michel Aoun as its sole candidate for the presidency.


PM Salam will not hold cabinet session awaiting agreement over work mechanism-sources

Visitors of Prime Minister Tammam quoted him as saying on Saturday that he will not hold any cabinet session unless an agreement is achieved over a mechanism to run its work amid the presidential vacuum.

Similarly, sources told An-Nahar newspaper on Saturday that Salam is awaiting the results of the ongoing contacts in this regard to act accordingly.
