An-Nahar: PM Salam to be adamant on distancing Lebanon from conflicts

An-Nahar newspaper said on Saturday that Prime Minister Tammam Salam is set to announce, during the Arab summit to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on March 28-29, his stance regarding the incidents taking place in Yemen.

“Salam’s stance will be based on the ministerial statement which calls for distancing Lebanon from [regional] conflicts,” the daily said.

Well-informed sources also said the premier’s speech will be “well-devised, bold and clear,” adding “he won’t be affected by attempts to pressure him into considering his stances”.

Former MP Allouch says Hezbollah-Future dialogue fulfilled its goals

Future Movement official, former MP Mustafa Allouch said on Saturday that the stances issued by Hezbollah and the Future bloc would eventually affect the dialogue taking place between both sides “despite the fact that they have decided to proceed with it and steer clear of political differences”.

“I believe that the Hezbollah-Future dialogue has fulfilled its goals but if we manage, through dialogue, to keep on easing tension, it would be a good thing,” MP Allouch said in an interview with Al-Joumhouria daily.

Asked whether the incidents taking place in Yemen would affect Lebanon, Allouch said “it is in the hands of Hezbollah”.
