Governmental sources told al-Mustaqbal newspaper on Tuesday that the countdown for the security plan set to be implemented in the capital Beirut and the Dahieh suburbs has started.
The same sources added that the plan will be launched this month and will include all neighborhoods and regions of the Dahieh suburbs, including Hezbollah’s strongholds.
According to the daily, the sources stressed that Hezbollah completely agreed on the implementation of the plan, mainly after the increase in drug and prostitution cases in the region.
Ministerial sources ruled out on Tuesday that Hezbollah's stance from Prime Minister Tammam Salam’s speech at the annual Arab League summit in Sharm el-Sheikh would lead to a crisis inside the government.
The same sources told An-Nahar newspaper that Salam’s speech will be tackled during Wednesday’s cabinet session.
According to the daily, Hezbollah ministers considered that Salam’s stances were not discussed by the Lebanese government and that they do not reflect Lebanon’s official position as represented by the entire Lebanese government.
Sources told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Tuesday that the assassinations carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) are increasing in the border town of Arsal.
The same sources added that the terrorist group has a list of Lebanese and Syrian nationals who are wanted by ISIL for supporting the Syrian regime, spying or breaching ISIL’s laws.
According to the daily, the sources concluded by saying that ISIL is putting pressure on families to leave Arsal in case there were any doubt over their political affiliations.
Future MP Samir el-Jisr told As-Safir newspaper on Tuesday that the Hezbollah-Future Movement dialogue will not be affected by stances expressed throughout this week.
El-Jisr added that the ninth dialogue session set to be held on Thursday will tackle the presidential vacuum and the national anti-terrorism strategy.
