The Kataeb Party did not reveal what
kind of “field measures” the party will be taking against March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soueid .
During LBCI TV show “
Kalam
Nas” episode last Thurdsday, a report was broadcasted in which Soueid attacked
the Kataeb party. Accordingly the party’s
Vice President Sejaan Azzi announced that the response to Soueid’s claims will come
as “field measures”.
In this context, Azzi refused
to tell
An-Nahar Newspaper what these measures will be. However, the party’s
Secretary General Michel Khoury told the daily that Kateb’s supporters,
especially in Byblos, were very upset once they heard Soueid’s critics on the
party’s policy.
Khoury added that the
political bureau of the party will discuss this issue on Monday and will
consequently announce the party’s position from Soueid and March 14 General
Secretariat.
A well-known political figure told
Al Hayat Daily that the electoral law discussions might lead to a dead end.
The source added that the Future
Movement is supporting the Christian parties in March 14 bloc proposal but it’s
careful with its position.
According to the source, the party
approved the smaller districts law but with a majoritarian system, in respect
to MP Walid Jumblatt’s wishes.
The source also revealed that Future
Movement leader Saad Hariri informed LF MP Antoine Zahra that he’s committed to
his agreement with Jumblatt which the two settled in Paris last month.
Hariri added that he will try to
have Jumblatt on his side during the upcoming elections since they both have
same points of view in several subjects, especially the Syrian crisis.
The Lebanese cabinet will hold 2
sessions during next week. The first one will take place at the Grand Serail on
Monday, as the second session will be held in Baabda Palace on Wednesday.
The appointments’ file is not included
on the cabinet’s agenda. However, ministerial sources told
An-Nahar Daily that
some of the appointments might be discussed during Wednesday’s session.
The sources added that efforts are
exerted to reach an agreement over this subject.
In an interview with the Kuwaiti daily
Al-Seyassah,
Sheikh of the Imam Bilal Bin Rabbah Mosque
Ahmad Assir said that the death of Hezbollah’s Abou
Abbas and his companions in Syria is another reason to solve Hezbollah’s arms
issue.
Assir stressed that “he
will not remain silent to Hezbollah’s arms after the party’s participation in
the Assad’s regime massacres against the Syrian people.”
Commenting on Nabi
Sheet’s incident, Assir told the daily that “the explosion made ‘everyone’ revolt
against these ‘unorganized’ arms”.
Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr referred the phone call
analysis between Syrian presidential advisor Buthaina Shaaban and Former
Minister Michel Samaha to Military Investigative Magistrate Riad
Abou Ghida.

has previously presented the analysis to Judge Saqr.
In this context, judiciary
sources told
Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper that the phone
call content alludes that Shaaban was aware of the operation of explosions transfer and its purpose, stressing that if the accusations were
proven to be correct, Syria will be directly accused.
