US Senate passes gun violence bill
The US Senate passed late Thursday a bipartisan bill that will address gun violence in the country, which includes restricting access to firearms and providing billions of dollars in funding for the mental health and school security sectors.

The bill was approved by the Senate by 65 votes to 33, and it is almost certain that it will also be approved by the House of Representatives on Friday.

However, the bill falls far short of the demands of US President Joe Biden. Nonetheless, this project is a first in decades and is seen as a significant step forward by arms control advocates.
