Supporters of Muqtada al-Sadr, the powerful leader of the Shiite Sadrist movement, began leaving the Green Zone before the 60-minute deadline he gave them to leave the streets near the Parliament building.
 
The lifting of the curfew that had been in effect since Monday night was also announced by the Iraqi army at the same time.
