3 Syrian refugees gang rape girl in Jordan's Zaatari camp

A top security official said on Tuesday that 3 Syrian refugees in Jordan's Zaatari refugee camp raped a 14-year-old Syrian girl.

The security official noted that one of the rapists was arrested and referred to the Supreme Criminal Court while search is underway at the camp for the 2 others.

As for the girl, the official said that she was referred to the camp's Family Protection Unit to receive medical and psychological treatment

The Zaatari refugee camp is home to more than 120,000 Syrian refugees.

Ten sexual assault cases were reported at the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan since the beginning of the Syrian influx into the Jordanian kingdom in 2011.
