EU tightens sanctions against Syrian oil companies

The EU imposed sanctions on three Syrian oil companies as part of efforts exerted to intensify financial pressures against the Syrian government because of its 8-month old crackdown against protesters.

The list of sanctions includes media companies and other companies regarded by the EU as providers of sensitive material for research centers that are supporting the crackdown of dissidents.
