Afghan couple beheaded for having extramarital love affair
         
Officials said Wednesday that a young couple in southern Afghanistan was found beheaded, apparently murdered for having an extramarital love affair, the Daily Mail reported.       

Police investigating the case said they believed the family of the 20-year-old woman was behind the murders that took place in the southern province of Helmand.      

The elder brother of the male victim told officers the woman had recently run away with the alleged lover and was living in their family home.        

Police official Mohammad Ismail Hotak told AFP that 10 men broke into the house on Monday near the provincial capital Lashkar Gah and kidnapped the couple.  
          
"On Tuesday, local residents said there were two bodies in the graveyard. Both were beheaded," Hotak added.
