Military claims a successful launch of short range ballistic missile
      
Pakistan's military said it successfully test fired the short range NASR missile on Tuesday which is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons          

The test was conducted a day after the army concluded exercises in Punjab province.          

In a statement, the army said the test-fire was conducted with successive launches of four missiles from a multi-tube launcher.           

NASR, a tactical weapon with a 60-kilometre (37.28 miles) range and in-flight manoeuvre capability, is a quick response system, it said.             

The Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who witnessed the test, congratulated the scientists and engineers.
